My name is Grisel Delgado, House of Purpose Director,Director of Operations for Generation of Excellence Trendsetters South and a Community Health Worker Supervisor with one of our collaborating agencies UniteWI. I attended medical school and have eight years of case management background. I was raised by my mother who was a single mother of two. At the age of fifteen I gave birth to my first child who recently in 2020 graduated Summa Cum Lade with a Bachelor’s in Social Justice, a Bachelor’s in Social Work and a minor in Spanish. I share this with you all to say that I have experienced the unbearable. Jumped through many hoops and overcame a lot of obstacles along the way in life; determined to break as many systematic barriers as I could to provide for my children with the best opportunities in life.    

 I am now a successful mother of seven children. I do not look at my trials and tribulations as a negative impact on my life. I am grateful to have experienced everything I have. Life was purposely educating me and preparing me to work in my community to educate, empower and motivate. To serve as a mentor and advocate. To be that listening ear and provide resources to assist my community with overcoming barriers such as: lack of education pertaining to their medical conditions, homelessness, insufficient funds, food insufficiency, domestic violence, transportation to and from work or medical appointments and much more. I am passionate about helping the community. What I love the most is to see the positive outcome from the work we do.
